Hi Ninja, you're quite mysterious. I think I'll try to find time to bring this subject in to the light in a full article, but first I want to thank you for supporting my website. I truly do care about the community and despite being a real estate agent, do think that I can bring positive change to McClellanville without it losing what gives it it's unique character. We've all been trained to resist change and see it as evil, but all things must change and the task at hand is to shape that change into something good. McClellanville's economy would receive a big boost with proper healthcare, jobs, and education, but that doesn't mean we have to have a giant hospital and factory in our back yard. Just as the Dollar General is a good compromise for a grocery store, so are there compromises for these other things.

Continued...(sorry)

(Also, I would like to add that I posted the very contentious comment a few years ago regarding the marketing of the town from a real estate perspective. I was young and naive at the time and afraid of change. Since that time, I have learned that economic growth is vital to community preservation/wellbeing and, as a result, support the efforts of this website.)

That was my two cents...
Stay beautiful MCVL...
Eat Local Shrimp!

I haven't heard any recent rumors, but several of the chains do population studies every couple of years and I'm sure as soon as it makes good business sense that they will be welcomed by most. There is basically a lot reserved for such a business in the highway commercial zone, not that they have to take it but it would provide pedestrian access without having to travel on the highway. If I had to guess I'd say it'll probably be another 5 years if McClellanville continues the slow but steady growth that it has been experiencing.

Daniel,
Along with new Dollar General being built in the Town, rumor has it that a supermarket is also in the plans. Can you provide any information on this?

Daniel,
Thank you again for your help in our lot purchase. While we had a good idea of what we wanted and where we wanted to be, it was great to have your local knowledge to help us make up our minds. Also, with us being hundreds of miles away, you were a life saver in helping with the septic permit and the other various aspects of closing preparation.

Best Wishes,
Corey & Alice Grey Harrison
